Sell other people's stuff on eBay

Why not sell other people's stuff on eBay - after all, it means you don't have to buy products yourself to sell, so if cash flow is a problem for you (ie you don't have any!) read on!

You could advertise on the internet or in your local paper/magazine, shop windows etc along the lines of 'Got something to sell? Let me do all the work for you'. Or you could be more specific and say 'got books to sell' or 'got furniture to sell' etc.

You would then take a commission (you decide how much) based on the price the item fetches in your eBay auction. You can't lose. All you need to do is list the item, upload photos (which the seller can provide you with unless you live near them in which case take photos yourself) and then pay the seller the amount the item fetches minus your commission. They can choose to set a reserve price on the item if they want, to ensure it doesn't sell for peanuts, or you set the start price at the figure they would be happy to sell at.

It would be in your interests to have built up a good feedback score on Ebay before you start selling other people's stuff though - they need to trust you and see your track record, plus you'll get better sales as buyers like to buy from eBayers with experience and a high feedback score.

You also need to have fully mastered what times to start auctions at, which days of the week work best for your auctions to end on, what keywords will attract the most number of bidders etc. You can learn all this in the ebook featured in the right hand margin of this blog - Silent Sales Machine, or in the others featured there too.

In summary, what a great way to make money online - selling things for others, no investment needed from you apart from your time and skills which you can learn from those who have done it all before you!

Recommended eBay Success Formula

"45-Year Old eBay(R) Powerseller Since 1997 lays out a complete step-by-step roadmap on how he has made over $8.7 Million On eBay(R) over the last 10 Years."

If you want a short-cut to eBay success, and want to make a serious income that will exceed your day job's, I recommend you read this ebook. Tom Barnes, the author, has been one of eBay's top volume sellers for over 10 years, and he shares everything he does here. If you're skeptical, it comes with a money-back guarantee, so you're not risking a thing.

Testimonial about the information from Tom's site:
"I began to create my business from home through the suppliers you provided. It was quite amazing how fast things were taking off. Within my first month, I've gathered $4,200 in profits from just selling power tools. It took me about 8 weeks later to break over the $10,000 mark. Since then, my sales have continued to climb, and I can't thank you enough for getting me started in my eBay career. To my surprise, this has turned out to be the first venture that I've ever had any success with."

How to get truckloads of people seeing your eBay items

How do you get truckloads of people seeing your eBay items? Particularly the high price items? Well, one way (and it's a great way) is to put the item in your eBay shop, and make sure you use the best possible keywords in your title and description. (I talked about keywords in a separate post).

Then simply leave it there. Why? Because the longer it's there, the more chance you have for the search engines to rank you high in their listings. Imagine the numbers of people who will see your item if you are page 1 on Google...

If you put an item into a 7-10 day auction, you probably won't rank in the search engines at all, and if you do, you'll be gone once the item sells. But in your shop, it's there indefinitely, as there's no deadline.

Hang on a minute, I hear you say, I want to make money faster than that! Ah, but the point is, you can make regular money off your lower priced items in auctions, but with items you want high prices for, play the long game - you'll attract 1000's more potential buyers with your shop/search engine listing and can expect to get a much higher final sale price because of this. You decide the price in your shop anyway. You could ask $4,500 for your item, that might only fetch $1000 in an auction.

Don't forget you can also promote your ebay shop address (URL) all over the web - are you on Facebook, MySpace etc? I bought a domain name that was short, relevant and memorable and pointed it at my shop address for the purpose of marketing it. You don't want a long, complicated address, people just won't remember it.

Finally, don't forget, the keywords you use are the most important thing. You want keywords that will attract high volumes of targeted traffic. More in depth info about keywords.
